Communitas Submission Guidelines
Communitas Article Guidelines
The purpose of the Monthly magazine, Communitas, is to represent the entire SCIS-HIS system equally, and interestingly, reflecting our vision and mission.
Submission procedures:
- Text may be submitted directly to the Communitas editor at Communitas@scischina.org as either a Word document or within the body of the email
- Photographs / artwork should be left on your campus’s T-share drive in the @Communitas folder. Please create a folder with your name or article topic and place graphics within. Text may also be included in this folder
- In order to publish a quality image, we need:
- Resolution - 300-350 DPI CMYK
- Format - pdf, jpg, tiff
- Size – Quality images will be at least 1 or 2MG and up
- Please email the editor at communitas@scischina.org to notify them that your work has been deposited on the share drives!
The articles should:
o Be written from your area of expertise and your professional perspective
o Be appropriate for a system-wide audience
o Pertain to an educational or international audience
o Incorporate one or more of the ESLRs
o Be informative, well-written and interesting
o May or may not address the theme of that issue
o Be original and not the same articles as entered in the Dragon News
o Should be written in accordance to the length requested
o Include appropriate photographs or artwork if possible
Length
o Full page is about 800 words; can be 750 with artwork or photograph
o Half Page is about 500 words; can be 450 with artwork or photograph
o Quarter Pages or “blurbs” are from 150-300 words
